Because the whole thing is pretty heavy!! But it was ok, because the fan has a back plate which goes on the back of the motherboard which is then bolted together with the fan. Was abit of a pain to completely remove the motherboard, but the low temperatures i am now seeing is completely worth it. I wondered the same thing when i lifted the case after the install. I can see now that "crazy" is not limited to liquid cooling.
